Closure of I-70 ramp in St. Clair County extended to Nov. 15

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the closure of the ramp from Packers Ave to eastbound I-70 at Exit 2, in St. Clair County, has been extended until November 15.

The closure is needed to complete bridge joint repairs. IDOT Day Labor forces are making the needed improvements. Full access will be restored as soon as possible.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
