SWIC Red Bud Campus’s Flutter Farm to host Butterfly Festival Sept. 9

The public is invited to spend the day outdoors at the Flutter Farm’s Butterfly Festival on Southwestern Illinois College’s Red Bud Campus.

As an all-ages event, SWIC’s Butterfly Festival will provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about the insects and pollinators that surround us, but in family friendly way.

The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023.

Activities at the event will include:

• Monarch habitat and insect/pollinator information table
• Build an insect hotel
• Inflatables for all ages
• SWIC Ollie’s Eatery Food Truck
• Nature Scavenger Hunt and more

“The Butterfly Festival will have tons of free family fun,” said Director of Student Life Amy Brockman.

The RBC “Flutter Farm” butterfly garden is a Monarch Watch approved waystation and was made possible by a SWIC Foundation Enhancement Grant.
