Baker Sterchi adds attorney Schneidewind in Belleville

Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice has announced the addition of a new attorney. David Schneidewind has joined as a Member in Belleville.

Schneidewind brings experience in representing railroads, governmental entities and healthcare professionals. He has successfully handled numerous cases involving Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) claims, toxic tort matters, insurance defense, general corporate matters, and land issues. Schneidewind has represented both Class I railroads and local switching railroads. He has also served as legal counsel to various county departments and agencies, municipalities, water districts and port districts in the governmental sector. He earned his law degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Law and is admitted to practice in Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Beyond his legal practice, Schneidewind is actively involved in civic, charitable and fraternal organizations. He serves as general counsel to the Ainad Shriners in East St. Louis, Ill., and has made significant contributions as a member and past Chairman of the Board of Governors of Shriners Children’s–St. Louis, Mo.
