UPDATE: Due to a rainy forecast for June 11, Alton’s 26th annual All-Wheels Drive-In Car Show has been postponed until Sunday, July 16.

To stay up-to-date, organizers are encouraging those who plan to attend to RSVP to the event listing on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/events/1381191889414258

Alton’s 26th annual All-Wheels Drive-In Car Show will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, June 11. Free and open to the public, the event typically attracts over 200 classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles in an expansive display along 3rd, 4th, State and Belle Streets.

Alton Main Street organizes this tradition with support from Time Machines Unlimited Car Club. The community is welcome to come out for the autos and stay for the live music, 50-50 drawing, vendor displays and festival food court.

This year’s entertainment is Number4Combo; from 1 to 3 p.m. the band will perform live rock music with a smooth dance groove. A featured pin-up contest takes place at 3 p.m. to celebrate the glamour, sophistication and class of the 1950s.

Registration for automobiles is open from 8 a.m. until Noon, and trophies will be presented at 4 p.m. Show drivers should note that the event grounds have been reconfigured to improve traffic flow. Registration for automobiles entering the show will now be located near Danny’s Lounge at 118 W. 4th St.;  enter from Piasa Street (Hwy 67) to 4th Street. A map can be found at www.DowntownAlton.com/Events, along with details on the 38 classes and 6 specialty awards.

The fee is $15 to enter the judging, or just $10 to display your wheels. Dash plaques and goodie bags are given to the first 125 registrants. For car show related questions, contact Jamey Griffin at (618) 792-8901.

The event organizers thank the following sponsors for their generous support: The City of Alton, Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau, Simmons Hanly Conroy, Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery, Argosy Casino, Ascent Dealer Services, Chiro One Wellness Centers, Revheads, Speed Demons Car Club, PJ’s Professional Detailing, A-1 Auto Transport, GCS Credit Union, Altonized Community Federal Credit Union, Bristow & Sons Automotive Repair, Jack Schmitt Chevrolet of Wood River, AMS Auto Detailing, Danny’s Lounge, Olive Oil Marketplace, Barrett Heating & Cooling, The Telegraph, WBGZ Radio, Riverbender.com, and AdVantage.
