MM&R’s Litzenburg recognized on Public Interest Law Initiative’s 2023 Pro Bono Volunteer Honor Roll

Shareholder Deanna L. Litzenburg has been chosen as one of five individuals for recognition on the Public Interest Law Initiative’s (PILI) 2023 Pro Bono Volunteer Honor Roll.
The five honorees will be recognized at PILI’s Annual Pro Bono Reception on June 21, 2023, in Chicago. The annual reception celebrates the inspiring and life-changing pro bono work being done in Illinois.
Litzenburg has been selected by the PILI staff for this honor due to her volunteer contributions helping those in need of civil legal help specifically through her work with The Conflict of Interest Pro Bono referral panel and her efforts to help PILI build additional capacity in the Third Judicial Circuit. Litzenburg has participated in a veterans wills clinic and handled several pro bono civil and probate matters this past year.
Litzenburg focuses her practice in civil litigation, commercial litigation, premises liability, employment law, creditors’ rights, workers’ compensation and alternative dispute resolution. With over 20 years of experience, Litzenburg has been dedicated to serving a diverse range of clients, including individuals, hospitals, nursing homes, banks, small businesses, and other employers in Southern Illinois, handling various litigation needs, equal employment issues, workers’ compensation claims, and other matters.
PILI was established in 1999 to encourage and assist law firms and corporations in developing their pro bono programs. The initiative has transformed into a hub for pro bono within the Illinois legal community, working with law firms, corporations, public interest law agencies, law schools and members of the bar and bench to increase the offering of pro bono legal services in Illinois.
