Tyson Foods Caseyville honored by Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois

Prepared Foods facility awarded Salute to Southwestern Illinois Award for economic investment in the region

The Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois has honored Tyson Foods Caseyville for its continued investment in the Southwestern Illinois region. The Prepared Foods facility was one of eleven businesses, communities, and military partners that received the 2023 Salute to Southwestern Illinois Award for outstanding efforts to innovate, expand and reinvest in the Southwestern Illinois communities in which they serve.

Awardees were formally recognized during the Leadership Council’s annual Salute to Southwestern Illinois Awards Dinner held at the Regency Conference Center in O’Fallon, Ill., in late March.

“We’re honored to receive the 2023 Salute to Southwestern Illinois Award from the Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois, said Christopher Rogers, plant manager at the Tyson Foods Caseyville facility. “Since our facility began operating in 2005, we’ve been fully committed to the region’s economic growth and prosperity.”

The Leadership Council specifically recognized Tyson Foods Caseyville for its approximately $229 million expansion project currently in development. Seven state-of-the-art production lines and 270,000 square feet will be added to the existing Caseyville facility to increase automated warehousing and robotics. The project is slated to be completed in late 2024.

In addition to the expansion’s technological advancements, Tyson Foods announced in January it expanded its workforce projections for the facility, creating approximately 500 new team member positions to meet the growing demand for Hillshire Farm® and Jimmy Dean® snacking products.

About 100 positions across the maintenance, Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA), warehousing, production, and management departments have already been filled. At the same time, an additional 400 are expected to begin work by the project’s completion. The expansion project is set to bring the total team member count to approximately 800 by September 2024. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit to learn more about Tyson Foods’ career paths.
