IDOT announces nightly lane restrictions along I-270 in Madison County starting March 20

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced nightly lane restrictions in the eastbound direction of I-270 between Riverview Drive in Missouri and IL 3 beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, weather permitting. All lanes will be opened each morning by 5 a.m. and the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week.

This work is needed to do pavement striping. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

The contractor on this project is Walsh Construction Company II, LLC of Chicago.
