Marine Coin Company celebrates 10 years in business

The Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Marine Coin Company to celebrate the company’s 10th year in business. The ceremony was attended by (left to right) Jeremy Colton (Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More of Edwardsville), Alex St. Peters (True Value Rental in Edwardsville), Brian Jones (Bank of Hillsboro), Steven Bartlett (Bradford National Bank), Bill Weder (Marine Coin Company), Kelly Tracy (Kelly Tracy Apparel & Design), Mary Jo Smith (Hospice of Southern Illinois) and Lori Pelan (Imo’s Pizza). Store employees Lisa Hartlieb and Rich Rettle were unable to attend the ribbon cutting.

Owner Bill Weder established the company in August of 2012 when a previous bank building came up for sale. “I thought the building was really cool and figured it would be a good place for my business,” said Weder. He and his team understand the need for estate planning and expert advice regarding coin and jewelry collections. They are proud to have served the Metro East region for the past decade and look forward to helping customers for many years to come. Weder added that he enjoys being a part of the local community and showing mutual support and respect for fellow business owners.

Whether buying or selling, customers are welcome to stop by the shop at 155 North Duncan St., Marine, Ill., or call (618) 887-2008 with any questions. “Plan to stay a while and enjoy the history hung on the walls of Marine Coin Company and the array of stories from the shop owner,” they noted further.
