Whitetail Properties Real Estate has donated over $100,000 to four charitable organizations that provide hunting and other outdoor activities for youth, military veterans and others.
The funds were raised through an auction at the company’s recent national sales meeting, at which its agents, known as Land Specialists, had the opportunity to bid on hunting and fishing trips. Based in Pittsfield, Ill., Whitetail Properties specializes in farm, recreational and other rural properties, and many of its Land Specialists are avid hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
The donation was divided among the following organizations:
- Kicking Bear Foundation, a nationwide youth outreach ministry offering summer campouts, adventure days, youth hunts and year-round mentorship to reach underprivileged and at-risk youth, many of whom would never have the opportunity to experience the outdoors, and to let them know that God has a purpose for them.
- The National Deer Association’s Field to Fork food-focused hunter recruitment program for adults from non-hunting backgrounds. Participants learn how to hunt and acquire a wild, healthy, local, sustainable source of food on their own.
- Cross Trail Outfitters, which provides hunting, fishing and other year-round activities primarily for boys ages 7-20 who are unfamiliar with the outdoors, while sharing the Christian faith. There are also opportunities for families and girls to participate in some activities.
- Lodge of Hope Project, a program offered by Peterson Outdoors Ministries, serving wounded veterans and their families as well as youth with disabilities or terminal illnesses. It provides a faith-based retreat where the entire family can be together, relax and find encouragement and the support they need to heal.
Jeff Evans, CEO of Whitetail Properties, said he is proud of the company’s Land Specialists and staff for stepping up for these great causes.
“We are a blessed organization with very giving and compassionate people,” he said. “We are proud to partner with these incredible organizations that share our passion for the outdoors by helping introduce our youth, military veterans, first responders and others to the outdoors with these opportunities and helping to feed the hungry through hunting and conservation pursuits. Faith-based organizations share our company’s core values, and giving back is very important to all of us at Whitetail Properties.
“We feel a responsibility as an organization to help preserve our heritage and natural resources,” Evans added. “We’re trying to ensure others have as many opportunities to know God’s creation as possible — in this generation and the next.”
