Lion’s Choice launches incentive program to reward student workers

The new program is part of the chain’s efforts to hire and retain high school and college employees with $200 and $300 bonus opportunities

Lion’s Choice, the Midwestern brand known for its roast beef sandwiches, recently announced the launch of its new “Educational Bonus Program” for high school and college students. The program rewards student workers that work at the restaurant’s locations across Kansas City, St. Louis, and parts of Illinois for their hard work both in the classroom and at the restaurant with a semester bonus incentive of up to $200 (high school) and $300 (college). Students are eligible for the bonus when they work a minimum of 10 hours per week, achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA, and score well on their work performance reviews. Those interested in working for Lion’s Choice can apply on its Careers page through the company’s website.

“We have long stood for ‘ridiculously good’ food but our mission extends beyond the food we serve and in how we treat our customers and our employees,” says Michael Kupstas, President & CEO of Lion’s Choice. “The new program was brought to us by one of our own General Managers, Shelly Vasquez at the Mid-Rivers restaurant, who was looking for a rewarding way to incentivize students to apply for a job with Lion’s Choice. We hope to attract new employees and to retain current staff by showing them that their efforts, whether at work or in school, matter, because we couldn’t provide the exceptional experience to our guests without our all-star team.”
