The Chamber of Commerce Southwestern Madison County hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony as a part of the grand opening celebration at Chocolate Covered Creations in Granite City on Friday, Sept. 2, 2022.
“Granite City residents came out in full force, with a line out the door and all the way to the street. I had to park two city blocks away,” noted Rosemarie Brown, the chamber’s executive director. “Wow! Isn’t this great turnout of the public, great proof of how badly we needed this type of specialty shop?”
Brie McGill and Sue Beatte are the owners of the new business, Chocolate Covered Creations, located at 3051 Washington Avenue in Granite City. The specialty shop features an assortment of desserts including mini cheesecakes, cake pops, muffin loaf, Mexican concha, empanadas, and chocolate-covered strawberries, pretzels, and pineapple. Customers can order custom cakes and cupcakes, chocolate strawberries, and more and indulge in hot coffee, espresso drinks, colorful Boba tea, and horchatas. They also offer creative specials such as dessert tacos, fruity offerings, and specialty pastries.
The anime-themed cafe is designed with manga-inspired dining tables and art, also offering anime specials, all in an atmosphere that is a uniquely fun and relaxing experience.
