Nonna needed: Lucia’s Pizza launches search for ‘grandma’ brand ambassador

The makers of Mama Lucia’s Pizza and 4 Hands Brewery-Inspired Pizzas are accepting applications for a paid grandma (aka “nonna”) social media influencer position

Lucia’s Pizza, makers of the frozen pizza brands Mama Lucia’s Pizza and 4 Hands Brewery-Inspired Pizzas, announces a search for a paid grandma social media ambassador for 2022-2023.

Inspired by the rise of the grandma influencers on Tiktok, Lucia’s is seeking a grandma to represent the brand on social media, offering wisdom to the next generation and expressing her uncensored opinions on topics of her choice.

The application is open to the public from Wednesday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Sept. 16. Applicants should submit a headshot along with video prompts to assess the applicant’s on-camera abilities, personality, and life outlook. Interested applicants can see full details here.

Lucia’s Pizza will sign a year-long paid contract with the winning “nonna,” which includes a commitment of up to two hours per month of video and/or photo shoots to be published on the brand’s social media pages along with potential radio and broadcast opportunities.

“Mama Lucia’s was the original St. Louis frozen pizza company when the brand began in 1981 in St. Louis’ historical Italian neighborhood of The Hill,” says President Scotty Ashby. “We all know the archetype of the matriarch in the family that keeps everyone honest. We’re looking for a modern-day nonna to engage with our social media audiences and connect with the next generation of pizza lovers.”

Brand ambassador responsibilities will require no more than two hours per month between September 2022 and September 2023 and include:

  • Monthly two-hour shoot and/or quarterly half-day shoot to capture lifestyle hacks, cooking advice, and unsolicited advice on the topics of her choice
  • TV and Radio Appearances (as needed)
  • On-site appearances for events (as needed)

The full job requirements for the Lucia’s influencer position are below:

  • Age: 60+
  • Ability to commit to the above needs for one year
  • A compelling life story
  • Interest and competency in cooking
  • Love for pizza
  • Confident and communicative on camera
  • Sassy, opinionated, strong-willed, and loving

The winning nonna will be compensated $200 per month for their time. Interested applicants must fill out the application here by Sept. 16, 2022, which includes video prompts such as, “What’s the one piece of advice you’d give to the next generation to live a happy life?”
