All-Wheels Drive in Car Show to mark 25th year on Sunday

Alton’s 25th annual All-Wheels Drive-In Car Show will be held on Sunday, June 12, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event typically attracts over 200 classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles, which the public is welcome to browse on Third, Fourth, State and Belle streets. There is no charge for admission.

Alton Main Street organizes this tradition with support from Time Machines Unlimited Car Club. The event includes live music, 50-50 drawing, vendor displays and festival food court.

This year’s entertainment is Tele-Starr. From 2 to 3 p.m. the band will perform golden oldies jukebox music. The band also operates a mobile retail shop called The Teardrop, which will be at the event.

Registration for automobiles is open from 8 a.m. until noon, and trophies will be given at 4 p.m. Details on the 38 classes and six specialty awards can be found at www.DowntownAlton.com. The fee is $15 to enter the judging, or just $10 to display wheels.
