Madison County Transit is announcing fixed-route service changes that will accommodate the growth of Eastgate Plaza in East Alton effectively Sunday, May 8.
The change includes adjustments to the #1 Riverbend schedule and stops along the #9 Washington Shuttle and #15 East Collinsville Shuttle.
“MCT’s May service change will expand service to Eastgate Plaza providing access to the growing number of businesses in that complex and better connections to the #1X Riverbend Express,” said MCT Managing Director SJ Morrison. “In addition, we are making additional changes to the #9 and #15 routes to better serve the passengers of MCT.”
A summary of the changes, by route, is listed below.
- #1 Riverbend: Add new hourly service to Eastgate Plaza on weekdays between 7:31 a.m. and 8:31 p.m. (southbound) and 7:29 a.m. and 8:59 p.m. (northbound). Current times at Hartford and Eastgate Plaza will shift by one or two minutes. Service in Hartford will operate in a clockwise loop via Hawthorne St., S. Delmar Ave., W. 2nd St., and S. Old St. Louis Rd., in both directions.
- #9 Washington Shuttle: Relocate service from Henrietta Avenue to Agnes Boulevard to improve bus stop location conditions. The existing bus stop on Henrietta Ave. at N. Rodgers Ave. for southbound buses would be relocated to N. Rodgers Ave at Henrietta Ave. to better serve Senior Services Plus.
- #15 Collinsville Shuttle: Discontinue service on route segment between W. Clay St./N. Clinton St. and N. Clinton St./W. Johnson St. and shift route to Center St.
