Edwardsville Library marks completion of several improvements
The Edwardsville Public Library recently celebrated the completion of several building renovations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil one of the upgrades, a new exterior sign.
Members of the library board, library staff, city officials, business supporters and community members attended the ceremony conducted by the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce.
According to Library Director Jill Schardt, efforts to modernize the facility include updates to all public restrooms and the addition of a family restroom, transforming the outdoor patio into a space that is ADA compliant and usable by everyone, self-checkout kiosks, a teen space designed for collaborative work and four quiet study rooms.
Additional laptop bars and new furniture were also included in the project.
