Owners sell Metro East contracting company to longtime employees

Kenneth and Carol Keeney have announced the sale of their shares in Pyramid Electrical Contractors Inc. in Fairview Heights to Robert Snell and Michael Kemper, effective Nov. 30, 2021.

Under the leadership of Kenneth Keeney, the CEO, Pyramid has consistently been ranked among the top 20 electrical contractors in the St Louis region for the last 20 years.

“Among its  many strengths is its ability to be versatile and creative in meeting its customers needs,” Keeney said, “as evidenced by our repeat customers.  Our employees remain long term, are constantly educated in the latest innovations and understand that customer satisfaction is paramount.  Clients include universities, hospitals, many commercial entities, government agencies and residential customers.”

The husband and wife Keeneys have been the majority owners until this point. They started the company in 1982.  Carol retired several years ago, and Ken retired this fall.

Snell and Mike are long-term employees and have been minority partners for almost 20 years.  The succession plan will enable clients to experience the same service they have enjoyed since the beginning, Keeney said.

The management and ownership teams will keep the same office and field staffs in place.

“We are proud of the reputation we have built and we attribute much of our success to the support of many of our long term employees. We are confident Mike and Bob will continue to maintain this reputation and grow this successful corporation,” the Keeneys said.

The corporate structure is now Robert Snell, president, Michael Kemper, executive vice president, and Scott Korte, vice president.
