Virtue Vein and Lymphatic Center opening Edwardsville location

Virtue Vein and Lymphatic Center, a locally owned clinic with six locations throughout Southwest Missouri and Illinois, is opening at 217 South Buchanan, Suite B in Edwardsville, its first location in the Metro East.

Owner Raffi Krikorian MD (shown) is a board-certified cardiologist and vascular physician with 25 years of experience in this field.

The practice specializes in conditions such as lymphedema, varicose and spider veins, deep vein thrombosis, pelvic congestion disease, restless leg syndrome, May-Thurner Syndrome, leg ulcers, and limb preservation in addition to cardiovascular procedures.

Kirkorian said he made the decision to open a location in Edwardsville based on the need he’s seen in this area.

“We know that many people in Edwardsville and the Metro East typically drive to St. Louis for their care, but many of the specialized procedures we offer can easily be done in a more convenient location, closer to home,” said Krikorian. “Vein disease can impact many areas of a person’s health and my goal is to make treatment options as accessible for people as possible.  Vein and artery diseases are both areas where I think my expertise can help people both medically and cosmetically, and I’m excited to be part of this business community.”

Krikorian said his practice uses and follows European vein techniques, which are often 2-3 years ahead of practices commonly used in the United States. The practice offers both in-person and telehealth appointments and is currently accepting new patients.

Krikorian’s office also offers vein and artery screenings, which can help detect conditions such as peripheral artery disease (PAD), atherosclerosis, carotid artery disease, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and varicose veins. It’s estimated that 15 percent of the United States population is affected by varicose veins, and millions of people each year also develop life-threatening conditions such as thrombophlebitis or DVT.
