KEB accounting firm celebrates 90 years of service

Kerber, Eck & Braeckel LLP, an accounting, consulting and advisory firm in Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin, is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Over the next year, the firm will be taking its celebration outside the office by giving back to its respective communities, which include O’Fallon, Ill.

KEB was founded in 1931 by two certified public accountants, Louis J. Kerber and Albert O. Eck who initially opened offices in Springfield, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri. In 1938, Walter E. Braeckel joined the firm, establishing the name that continues today. KEB has since grown to nine office locations across the Midwest.

What has remained consistent through the 90 years for the firm is how KEB has been helping families and organizations within their communities through the sharing of time, resources, and professional expertise. KEB consistently strives to embody its core values, one of the most important of which is to “Give Generously.”

KEB supports numerous non-for-profit organizations across the Midwest. Employees in all offices are encouraged to follow their passion and volunteer where they feel they can make a measurable difference.

For the 90-year celebration, there are several events planned over the next year for each office to participate in. During September, the St. Louis Group closed its offices to spend a day volunteering at Sherwood Forest Camp, an organization that services children from low-income families and underserved communities in Missouri and Illinois. Associates are also volunteering at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a charity that constructs beds and donates pillows, mattresses, and linens to children without these items, essential to a good night’s rest and mental health.

The St. Louis Group held an open house for all its community members and clients as a thank you. The event was held in October at its O’Fallon, Ill., location.

KEB’s accountants and management consultants provide audit, accounting, and tax services as well as management consulting, and employee benefit plan services to a variety of clients with a special focus on construction, banking and financial services, not-for-profit, religious organizations, insurance, privately held and family-owned businesses, and high net worth individuals.

KEB’s Wealth Management division serves as a registered investment advisor to individuals, businesses, trusts, partnerships, not-for-profit organizations, and retirement plans. KEB has office locations in Illinois (Springfield, Litchfield, Columbia, Harrisburg, O’Fallon, and Marion), Missouri ( St. Louis and Cape Girardeau), and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
