City of Highland swears in new chief of police

The Highland City Council swore in its first female police chief, Carole A. Presson, at its Nov. 1 meeting in front of nearly 30 friends and family.

The approved contract states that Presson will receive a base salary of $120,000.

Presson is a retired lieutenant of investigations from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and is a doctoral candidate in criminal justice.
