Love a Senior Day being rescheduled to June 2022

Love a Senior Day, an event planned to celebrate the contributions of older citizens in Metro East, is being rescheduled for safety reasons, hosts said.

The event planned for the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds & Expo Center in Belleville on Oct. 8 has been pushed back to June 24, 2022.

“The safety of seniors and local citizens means everything to us, so we are rescheduling this fun event to a later date,” according to an email sent to vendors and others.

The decision was made by the host organizations — the Uncle Gene Foundation and The Love a Senior Company — “after much deliberation” among committees, the advisory said.

People who have already signed up as a sponsor or a vendor will have their registration carry forward. Groups that were sponsoring the event will continue to be marketed in all promotions until the Love a Senior Day event, hosts said.

The Uncle Gene Foundation is a new public charity founded by longtime Belleville teacher and gerontologist Eugene Verdu.
