Anderson Hospital takes on a major sponsorship of new Edwardsville rec center

Edwardsville’s newest recreational facility featuring an ice rink, teen center, and 175-meter indoor track has signed on a new major sponsor.

Anderson Hospital in Maryville will be sponsoring the large fitness center located within the RP Lumber CENTER complex.

Located off Tiger Drive and Governors’ Parkway next to Edwardsville High School, the state-of-the-art facility is the third and final recreational development to be completed as part of the “A Better Place to Play” initiative.

Keith Page, Anderson Hospital president and CEO, said he is enthusiastic about the hospital’s involvement in the new recreational development.

“Supporting the ‘A Better Place to Play’ mission and impacting the future of recreation in our community is quite exciting,” said Page. “Participating in activities, like the ones offered at the RP Lumber CENTER, can greatly improve physical and mental health. The new space allows for easy access to healthy options for people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds and can be enjoyed all year long.”

The RP Lumber CENTER is slated to have two different fitness centers on the second level. The larger, Anderson Hospital Fitness Room, will be approximately 3,000 square feet. Offering a variety of fitness equipment and amenities, it will overlook the ice rink and is an ideal location for the hockey teams and figure skaters to work out as part of their training routine. The general public will also be able to use the facility with purchase of membership. Details on membership and admission to The RP Lumber CENTER have yet to be finalized.
