Work to begin on major road projects, including U.S. 67

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces a traffic staging change on U.S. 67 just south of Delhi from the current four-lane configuration to two lanes, beginning on Monday, April 12, weather permitting.

The new configuration will have northbound traffic merging with southbound traffic sooner than the current traffic pattern. This new traffic pattern will continue for several months and it allows the contractor to connect the new pavement to the current pavement with minimal impact to the motoring public.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

Old U.S. 50 pavement repairs begin April 12
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Old US 50 from 13th Street in Carlyle to Carter Street in Beckemeyer will be intermittently restricted to one lane beginning Monday, April 12, weather permitting.

Construction will take place daily between the hours of 7 AM and 7:00. Traffic in each direction will be maintained using flaggers. This work is necessary to complete pavement repairs and is expected to be completed by late July.

Motorists should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
