Virtual breakfast looks at pandemic’s economic effects

The City of Edwardsville will hold a 2021 Business Forecast Virtual Breakfast on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

“Aftershocks and Divergence in the Post-Pandemic Economy” will look at the seismic effect that COVID-19 had on the U.S. economy in 2020.

The speed of recovery over coming quarters likely will be uneven across different sectors and regions. Dr. Alicia Plemmons, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s economic public finance professor, will discuss the economic outlook in 2021 and 2022, while keynote speaker Brett Gilliland, founder and chief executive officer of Visionary Wealth Advisors, will discuss the divergence needed to remain competitive in the marketplace.

Prior to the breakfast, participants can pick up your “City of Edwardsville “Breakfast To Go” branded bag to enjoy at the event.
