O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Debbie Arell-Martinez holds the Seven Seals Award, presented by the Illinois Committee of Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve.
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an office of the U.S. Department of Defense, recently presented the Seven Seals Award to O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce for meritorious leadership and initiative in support of the men and women who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve.
Chamber Executive Director Debbie Arell-Martinez accepted the award, which was presented by Illinois ESGR Chair Laurie Silvey. The award presentation took place at a virtual meeting of the Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee The award also recognized the Chamber’s signing in November 2020 of a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve for more than 20 of its members.
Arell-Martinez told attendees, “As we are located close to Scott Air Force Base, we certainly support both our active members of the military, as well as our reserve component service members in the community.”
Silvey said, “By meeting the Statement of Support criteria, O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber pledges to stand proudly with its Guard and Reserve employees, who continue to answer their nation’s call to support our communities at home and critical missions throughout the world. Their sacrifices are essential to the strength of our nation.”
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that promotes supportive work environments for service members in the National Guard and Reserve through outreach, recognition, and education to increase awareness of applicable laws. ESGR also helps in resolving conflicts between Service members and their employers.
