Metro East organizations to host virtual 2021 economic outlook

National Association of Realtors chief economist among speakers

The Realtor Association of Southwestern Illinois, the O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce, and the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois have teamed up to host the Looking Ahead: 2021 Metro East Economic Outlook virtually on Feb. 3.

Participants will hear from Dr. Lawrence Yun, the chief economist and senior vice president of research for the National Association of Realtors; Dr. Ronda Sauget, executive director and CEO of the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois; and Jason Hall, CEO of the newly formed Greater St. Louis Inc.

Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels. He appears regularly on financial news outlets.

Sauget works to create an environment that attracts jobs and investment to St. Louis’ Metro East. She is responsible for identifying and mobilizing leaders in business, industry, labor, education and government, and building effective partnerships to address regional economic development issues, often playing a leadership role in advancing those initiatives that top the Leadership Council’s priority list.

Hall will talk about Greater St. Louis Inc. bringing together business and civic leaders to create jobs, expanding inclusive economic growth and improving St. Louis’ global competitiveness. “Although it may be hard to predict the future, knowledge and experience from these three top experts will give us a better idea of what to expect this year,” said Celeste Wheeler, president of Realtor Association of Southwestern Illinois. “With so much uncertainty in our economy, this event is so important and relevant to everyone. We are looking forward to an amazing year ahead, continuing to serve the members in our community.”

The Looking Ahead: 2021 Metro East Economic Outlook will take place via Zoom at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 1. To register or if you have any questions, contact Kati Schwierjohn, RASI’s senior director at Kati@myRASI.com.
