Madison County selects Gateway Convention Center for vaccine distribution

The City of Collinsville’s Gateway Convention Center will be the location of Madison County’s Health Department’s vaccine distribution starting on Thursday, Jan. 14.  At this time, vaccines are being distributed according to the phase distribution plan as outlined by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

“We are pleased to partner with the Madison County Department of Health to offer this important vaccine to city and county residents,” said Collinsville City Manager Mitchell Bair.

All Madison County residents that are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine will need to click the link (https://loom.ly/1TalFxQ) and complete the survey.  The survey will help the Madison County Health Department determine the number of vaccines needed for each phase.  When the vaccine is available, individuals will be contacted to schedule a vaccination appointment following IDPH guidelines.

“After seeing the devastating impacts to our community, we are hopeful that offering vaccines in this manner to our residents will help us move past this pandemic,” said Collinsville Mayor John Miller. “We look forward to getting our community opened back up fully for business.”

All Of Madison County filtered thru one local; and how can many nursing home patients get there. The logistics alone in not going to anyone in thr home will slow the distribution. All others and many ” do not have.intrnet!”
And many cannot wait all day in a car or walking line.
My parents are 84: my Mom is only mobile thru help.
How will this work for them?
