MCT route changes take effect Sunday, Jan. 10
In an effort to enhance bus service and access to employment, Madison County Transit will be making service adjustments at the regularly scheduled Jan. 10, 2021, Service Change. The January service change includes the reinstatement of select trips on the No. 1 Riverbend and the No. 6 Roxana – Pontoon Beach, as well as the addition of new service to the Orchard Shopping Center in Collinsville.
“MCT’s goal is to keep our community moving in the safest and most efficient way possible,” said MCT Managing Director SJ Morrison. “These enhancements will not only improve access to jobs, shopping, and services for our residents, the additional trips will help foster social distancing, especially on the busier routes.”

ROUTE CHANGES:
No. 1 Riverbend: Reinstate the 5:33 a.m. weekday southbound trip from Alton Station, and the 6:48 a.m. weekday northbound trip from Granite City Station.
No. 6 Roxana – Pontoon Beach: Reinstate the 4:35 a.m. weekday southbound trip from Wood River Station to Gateway Commerce Center, and the 5:47 a.m. weekday northbound trip from Liberty and Chain of Rocks.
No. 15 East Collinsville Shuttle: Discontinue service between Claremont Court and Pennsylvania Avenue. Introduce new service to Orchard Shopping Center (Dollar General, Ruler Foods, etc).
No. 19 Edwardsville – Collinsville: Shift route from Linden Street to Schwarz Street in Edwardsville.
No. 20 Granite City – Pontoon Beach Shuttle: End last two Sunday northbound trips at Liberty and Chain of Rocks.
Madison County Transit provides multimodal transportation services for Madison County. MCT operates a fixed-route bus service, connecting to MetroLink; express weekday commuter service directly to and from downtown St. Louis; and seasonal express service to the Muny. For elderly and disabled residents who are unable to use the fixed-route buses, MCT provides complementary door to door service. MCT is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of more than 137 miles of bikeways that comprise the MCT
