Hanson tabbed as treasurer for Madison County Bar Association

John C. Hanson is serving this year as treasurer of the Madison County Bar Association.

He is a member of the litigation practice group at Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C., representing companies in a variety of commercial matters. Previously, he served as an assistant state’s attorney in the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.

“We’re pleased to see John have the opportunity to serve this impactful organization that is so important to our legal community and, more widely, the communities of Southern Illinois,” said Russell K. Scott, managing officer of Greensfelder’s Southern Illinois office in Belleville. “As Greensfelder focuses on broadening our strong connections across the Metro East, this is another way for us to continue to give back through service.”

A native of Edwardsville,Hanson previously served as recording secretary for the Madison County Bar Association. He received his J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He also holds a Master of Arts from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

The Madison County Bar Association serves more than 400 attorneys and residents of Madison County, which is part of the greater St. Louis metro area.
