Wood River man named to Illinois Arts Council

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker has named Robert Maguire, of Wood River, to serve on the Illinois Arts Council.

Macguire is the Teacher Creativity Grant Consultant for the Eli Lilly Foundation. He is also an Adjunct Instructor in Art for Southwestern Illinois College and teaches a summer session in art for teachers through the Lilly Foundation at Indiana State University.

He is a retired teacher of fine arts in Cahokia and is a former ISBE Illinois Teacher of the Year.
