County keeps law library resources available

The Madison County Law Library and Legal Self-Help Center, and the services they provide, are still available to the public in these uncertain times.

Administrative order 2020-M-9 issued on March 20, closed the Library and Self-Help Center to protect the health and safety of patrons and staff.  Since that time, staff has gone remote, providing answers to basic legal questions and directing patrons to appropriate resources by telephone or email.

A special number and email address has been created to serve patrons during this time. You can contact (618) 296-4900 lawlibrary@co.madison.il.us.

In addition, many of the court forms and general information, including all Administrative Orders issued by the Court related to COVID-19, can be found by visiting www.co.madison.il.us/departments/circuit_court.

Illinois Legal Aid Online continues to provide general legal information and has recently introduced information related to legal issues and the pandemic. Patrons are encouraged to visit their website at www.illinoislegalaid.org.
