Lebanon company chosen for Route 162 project

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that Illinois Route 162 between just east of Illinois Route 157 and just east of Illinois Route 159 will be intermittently restricted to one lane beginning on Monday, March 30.

Two-way traffic will be maintained using flaggers.  The work is necessary to construct a new asphalt surface and is expected to be completed by July 2020. The project passes through parts of both Maryville and Glen Carbon.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

The contractor on this project is the Christ Brothers Asphalt, Inc., of Lebanon.

Work near raceway planned

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that llinois 203 between Eagle Street and Collinsville Road near World Wide Technology Raceway will be intermittently restricted utilizing a detour beginning 6  a.m. Saturday, March 28, weather permitting.  This work is required to make pavement repairs and is expected to be completed by 6  a.m. Monday, March 30.

Motorists should allow extra time for trips through this area.  Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.

The contractor on this project is Keeley and Sons. of East St Louis.
