Drive-through coronavirus specimen collection site opening in Swansea

Memorial Hospital, in cooperation with St. Clair County Health Department is opening a drive-through coronavirus (COVID-19) specimen collection site at 4000 North Illinois Lane in Swansea (the former location of Siteman Cancer Center).

Beginning Thursday, March 19, the drive-through collection site will be operational seven days a week from noon to 6 p.m.

Before coming to this collection site, community members need to first contact their primary care physician who will work with the local health departments to pre-screen and validate if they need to come to the specimen collection site.

“If you have not completed the pre-screening process as described in the previous paragraph, please do not come to the specimen collection site.  You cannot have a specimen collected without prior evaluation by your physician, convenient/urgi care provider and authorization from the local health department,” the hospital said in a media advisory.
