Schnuck continues to adjust store operations to address traffic
Schnuck Markets Inc. continues to adjust hours to address customer shopping trends affecting by the recent virus health concerns
Here is an email sent to the media on Monday:
“As we continue to see significant increases in customer traffic at our stores, we are announcing the following changes to Schnucks store hours:
“With the exception of four stores in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area (noted below), all other Schnucks stores will now be open daily from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Yesterday, some of our stores were open until midnight, and after seeing a decrease in customer traffic from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m., we are making the shift to close all stores at 10 p.m. daily. As we mentioned yesterday, these reduced hours will allow us additional time to restock.
“The four exceptions to the 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. store hours are listed below:
Culinaria (315 N. 9th St. in downtown St. Louis):
Previously open from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m., Culinaria will now be open Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Shrewsbury (7057 Chippewa St. in St. Louis)
Lemay (1032 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis)
Oakwood, (1721 Homer M. Adams Parkway in Alton)
“Our Shrewsbury, Lemay, and Oakwood stores will each close at 10 p.m. this evening (Monday the 16th) and are tentatively set to reopen at 6 a.m. on Thursday, the 19th. These three locations are in close proximity to other Schnucks locations and this change in hours will allow us to shift the nearly 200 teammates from these stores into other Schnucks locations. Shifting these teammates enables us to redeploy our workforce in a way that will ensure that teammates across our stores who have been working additional hours are able to get some time off to rest. It will also allow us to provide additional in-store support for the increased customer demand we are seeing. While these three stores are tentatively set to reopen on Thursday morning (the 19th), we will provide an update on Wednesday as to the precise day and time the Shrewsbury, Lemay, and Oakwood stores will reopen.
“We continue to coordinate with our supply partners and warehouse teams around the clock, to ensure that as soon as we receive product, it is delivered to our stores and available to our customers as quickly as possible,” the statement said.
