The Realtor Association of Southwestern Illinois kicked off a celebration of its 100th anniversary with a party Thursday, Jan. 9, at The Edge in Belleville.
During the event, members of the Realtor Association and prominent members of the community celebrated Realtors in the Metro East’s “Getting you Home for 100 Years.”
RASI recognized its current and past board presidents while a slide show of photos of days gone by played in the background.
Mayor Mark Eckert also made a proclamation that was presented by Belleville City Treasurer Dean Hardt.
The St. Louis Battlehawks President Kurt Hunzeker and marketing staff presented and thanked RASI for having them and explained that they are excited to be a part of the community with their first season preparing to start in February.
Others in attendance included Kristen Butcher, executive vice president of Illinois Realtors, Jon Broadbooks, vice president of communications for Illinois Realtors, and Young Brockhouse, vice president of professional development for Illinois Realtors.
RASI plans to continue the celebration all year, with social media contests, incorporating the centennial theme into annual events such as their Awards Luncheon and Installation, as well as a food truck party on their day of incorporation in June.
“This 100-year celebration is the beginning of a fantastic year,” said Judy Doyle, RASI past president and Realtor for RE/MAX Preferred in Swansea.
