Family Eye Care of O’Fallon moves to new location
The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce joined chamber member Family Eye Care of O’Fallon as it celebrated the opening of a new location at 735 Insight Ave. in O’Fallon. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Dec. 3.
Family Eye Care has provided eye health and vision care to O’Fallon and the surrounding communities for more than 22 years. The office is owned and operated by Dr. Vivian Kloke, and culminates almost two years of thought, design and construction.
“We wanted to keep the new office close to our former location on Cambridge Boulevard and central to the growing health-care community in O’Fallon. When Steve Macaluso of Halloran Construction informed us of his intention to build a new profession park on the vacant land behind Green Mount Road Harley Davidson, we jumped on the opportunity to be the first business located in the development, aptly named Insight Professional Park.”
Family Eye Care’s new office has been completely reimagined with a focus on the patient experience, from health and vision care to a relaxed environment.
“We have always put eye health and vision care at the top of our commitment to our patients,” said Kloke. “But designing, constructing and owning our own office gave us the unique opportunity to build something that goes a step beyond the expected doctor’s visit by providing a warm, inviting atmosphere for all our patients to enjoy.”
The evidence of this is immediately felt upon entering the building and being greeted by a smiling staff member at the expanded reception and front desk area. From there patients will find an open waiting area complete with high-top tables and charging stations for electronics; a kid’s area with books, toys and child-friendly TV; and a coffee & tea bar complete with ceramic mugs as the practice continues it’s commitment to being more Earth Friendly.
The optical area was also expanded to include over one thousand frames on display, new product lines, and an “Eye Bar.” The Eye Bar is a comfortable dispensing counter where patients can sit and have their eyewear custom fit by a technician.
The medical side of the practice also received an expansion, growing from three to eight exam rooms including a kid-themed super hero exam room, and a dedicated wheelchair accessible exam room which allows patients to remain in their wheelchairs during their exam. The pre-screening and special-testing rooms were also upgraded to include the latest state-of-the-art eye health technology.
“I have been a part of the local community since moving to the area in junior high school; attending McKendree University and UMSL optometry school; and opening Family Eye Care of O’Fallon in 1997. I now have the privilege, along with Dr. Kelli Cadion-Crago, Dr. David Ernst, and the entire staff of Family Eye Care, to continue serving our community in an office that puts our patient’s health and comfort first and foremost,” said Kloke.
