McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips opens new Illinois office

McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips has opened its eighth office across the Midwest in Springfield, Ill.

The office is the second office opened in 2019 by MVP and follows the opening of the Des Moines, Iowa, office in August. MVP has served Illinois for more than 20 years out of the St. Louis office and said it is now able to better serve its clients throughout the state.

MVP has a long-established history of legal service in matters pertaining to workers’ compensation, civil litigation and insurance defense, employment law, and public sector law.

Brent M. Neumeyer, managing shareholder of the Springfield office (shown left), is an Illinois native and has practiced with MVP since beginning his career in 2008. He successfully defends employers and insurance carriers at all levels of trial and appellate courts in both Illinois and Missouri.

He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Saint Louis University School of Law, and resides in Columbia, Ill. Neumeyer will continue to practice out of MVP’s St. Louis office.

Andrew J. (AJ) Sheehan (shown right) was born and raised in Springfield. He graduated from the University of Illinois and worked for the Illinois Senate in the capital city before graduating from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He worked in the firm’s St. Louis office before returning home to Springfield in June 2018 with his wife Alisha. As a Springfield native, he said he understands the market and culture of the region and enjoys being involved in the local community.

“AJ’s experience and expertise are a great asset to the firm and its clients. We are both very excited to continue representing our Illinois clients in the Springfield, Illinois office,” Neumeyer said.

MVP said it is looking forward to enhancing its regional footprint and continuing to provide excellent and innovative legal services. MVP conducts training in seven Midwestern states, including Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
