Trouw Nutrition recently matched donations made by its employees in Highland to donate to Leaps of Love, a local charity supporting families affected by childhood brain tumors and late-effects of childhood cancer.

Trouw, a global provider of animal nutrition, donated $1,462 to Leaps of Love, based in Highland.

“Leaps of Love looks way beyond the individual who has this disease and helps nourish the emotionally traumatized of all in the family who have to deal with the treatment and the recovery in working with this family member who has this disease,” said Chuck Hayden, of Trouw Nutrition’s Companion Animal Division. “Trouw’s heart and help goes out to all of the victims of cancer through this donation.”

Trouw Nutrition employees donated $731 of their own money, which Trouw Nutrition matched for a total donation of $1,462.

Leaps of Love Founder Traci Reichmann joined Trouw Nutrition at its main office to accept the donation.

“Leaps of Love would like to thank everyone that participated in the awareness of childhood cancer,” said Reichmann. “With only 4 period of cancer research funding going to pediatric cancer, we appreciate all the exposure we can get to raise awareness for the children of our future.”
