Interstate 70 ramps to be rebuilt at Greenville
A major interstate project will be occurring in Greenville in the coming week.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says the westbound entrance and exit ramps at Interstate 70 will be closed at Illinois Route 127 for five days beginning Monday, July 8, for reconstruction.
Traffic will be maintained utilizing a posted detour via I-70 and U.S. 40. Once this work is complete and the ramps are reopened, the I-70 eastbound entrance ramp will be closed for five days beginning Monday, July 15, and the I-70 eastbound exit ramp will be closed for five days beginning Tuesday, July 16. Traffic will again be maintained utilizing a posted detour via I-70 and U.S. 40. The work is necessary to partially reconstruct the ramps at their intersections with Illinois 127.
The department advises the traveling public to follow all construction signs and drive with caution through the work zones. Delays should be expected and the use of alternate routes may be beneficial.
The contractor on this project is The Kilian Corp. of Mascoutah.
