Metro East SBDC bringing resources to Monroe County

sbdclogoThe Monroe County Economic Development Corporation is offering the resources of the the Small Business Development Center for the Metro East at a seminar on customer discovery and the competitive advantage from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13.

Local business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to attend the seminar at the Harvest Market, 125 N. Rapp Avenue, Columbia, Ill. Registration, including a $5 fee, may be made at www.ilsbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/30839.

The SBDC is based at Southern Illinois University Edwardsvill. Director Jo Ann Di Maggio May will present on the following topics:

• Customer Discovery
o Why you should consider developing a target market
o Test Marketing
o Ways to identify your market (demographics, geographies, etc.)

• Competitive Advantage
o Creating the “Secret Sauce”
o Determine what sets you apart
o What’s your niche?
