HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital

p11 Patti Fischer    Safety and excellent patient experiences continue to be HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital’s main focus, from top leadership executives to colleagues at the bedside and all the supporting team members.
Recently, St. Elizabeth’s was nationally recognized for patient safety by earning an A rating in the Fall 2018 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
Our priority is always on patient care, quality and safety so we are very proud of our A safety rating and the many other accreditations and awards. We are always improving operational efficiencies in our O’Fallon location to optimize safety and the overall patient experience.
St. Elizabeth’s is the only hospital in the Metro East area approved to conduct transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). The program is led by Prairie Cardiovascular Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Venkatesh Anjan. Patients who undergo a minimally invasive TAVR procedure experience less down time, faster p11 st elizabethrecovery and often a shorter hospital stay (3-5 days on average) than patients undergoing open heart surgery.
Having this level of procedure available locally is a huge benefit to the region and is just one of many advanced services the long collaboration between St. Elizabeth’s and Prairie has established.
Another new amenity recently added for patients is valet parking at the Outpatient entrance and for those coming to appointments in the Health Center. It’s just another opportunity for us to assist patients, especially those who may have mobility issues, to safely and quickly get to their care area. Other new conveniences include online appointment setting for UrgiCare and mammography.
The hospital continues to invest in many advanced technologies in cardiac care, interventional radiology, surgical procedures and equipment, and much more to deliver the difference in health care.
