Firm announces 2018 ‘Archford Angels’ philanthropy project winners

Swansea-based independent wealth management firm Archford Capital Strategies completed the second year of its philanthropic initiative “Archford Angels,” giving the firm’s team members the chance to impact a local charity of their choice.

archfordangels2018“Again, we are overwhelmed with the success and impact that our Archford Angels program is having in the community on organizations themselves, but also on employees who are so engaged with their projects.” Jim Maher, CEO and founder.

Each Angel was given $1,000 and sent out into the community tasked with making the biggest impact possible. A cumulative total of $410,600 in monetary donations, gifts and grants have been received and over 900 service hours were completed by 15 Angels. Other impact:

• 13,500 kids and seniors were served fun food
• Over 100 animals have been treated
• Over 60 project guides were requested by companies and individuals interested in the program
• Four children have participated in a baseball/development program
• Four tutoring and Two Performing Arts scholarships were awarded
• Café’ for women and children in need is nearing completion
• Resource closet for less fortunate was created
• Systems were created and are in-place to increase funding

An evaluation by the Archford advisory board has determined the 2018 winners. Three additional grants in the amounts of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 have been made toward projects with the known objectives of developing a sustainable project, creating tangible impact and gaining personal growth from the experience.
Archford Capital and its advisory board announced Jacob Hong and Baskets of Hope won the $2,500 grant, Marnie Deschaine and Stages St. Louis won the $5,000 grant and Cathy Mifflin and Fun Food Ministries won $10,000.

Mifflin said, “Our Fun Food group is grateful to Jim Maher and the entire Archford Team for the opportunity to be involved in such a wonderful program. We are grateful to be able to serve so many and to serve God.”
