Urban Air Adventure Park has signed a lease for a 40,000-square-foot space in Fairview Heights Plaza vacated four years ago by The Sports Authority, said Paul Ellis, the city’s director of economic development.
A national chain, Urban Air is a destination for family fun, featuring a variety of attractions. Urban Air is opening centers across the St. Louis region with one location already open in Cottleville, Mo., and other locations under development in Fenton and South County, Mo.
This new use is the type of activity generator envisioned for redevelopment of the center by the Urban Land Institute’s Technical Assistance Panel, which met in Fairview and issued its recommendations this past May, Ellis said. The lease was secured through brokers from the Sansone Group and L3 Corporation. Fairview Heights Plaza is currently held by Torchlight Loan Services in New York City, a real estate mortgage investment conduit.
“The redevelopment of this center is another step in the overall strategy of the City of Fairview Heights to maintain its position as one of the principal retail hubs of the St. Louis region,” Ellis said.
The park’s many attractions including rock climbing, go carts, obstacle courses, trampolines, indoor sky diving, bowling, laser tag and more.
