Judges receive awards for community outreach

p07 Kolker    Associate Judge Chris Kolker received an award from the Illinois Judges Association for his community outreach.
Kolker, and other judges from the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, received awards for presentations they have done at local schools on “Dangers of the World Wide Web” and “Seven Reasons to Leave the Party.”
“The ‘Dangers of the World Wide Web’ presentation is aimed at letting kids in school know that they need to be careful what they tweet or post on other social media,” Kolker said.  “What they might think is them joking around can be perceived by others as threatening. Everyone needs to be careful what they throw out there.”
The other program warns teens, and other kids, about the problems with using drugs and alcohol.  It provides “Seven Reasons” why those kids should leave a party if they see drugs or alcohol.
Kolker also commended Judge Heinz Rudolf for setting up the presentations and organizing them.
