IDOT to address lanes for development along Edwardsville’s Plum Street

roadworkaheadlogoThe Illinois Department of Transportation says daytime lane restrictions will be encountered along Illinois 159/Plum Street, south of Governors’ Parkway, to accommodate the new Ironworks retail development in Edwardsville.

These lane restrictions will be in place from Nov. 6 to Dec. 31. These restrictions are required for turn lane and intersection improvements.

Restrictions may be encountered along the southbound and northbound lanes of Illinois Route 159/Plum Street.

Work is being completed by Keller Construction for the Ironworks Development.

The Ironworks project will consist of three new single-story buildings. Each will have multiple retail and restaurant tenants and outdoor amenities. Construction began on two buildings in June. The third will be developed as part of a second phase at a later date.

Sugarfire Barbecue will open in early 2019. Global Brew is relocating to Ironworks from downtown Edwardsville, and St. Louis-based Strange Donuts will also open a location there.

Traffic control devices will be utilized to assist motorists during these restrictions

Traffic control devices will be utilized to assist motorists during these restrictions. IDOT asks that motorists be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs and use additional caution when traveling near this work zone.
