Greensfelder employees participate in day of service
More than 25 Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. employees recently participated in the inaugural Global Day of Service, a worldwide community service initiative spearheaded by Ford Motor Co.’s Legal Alliance for Women, which is the company’s professional organization focused on women in the legal profession.
The employees spent the day on Sept. 27 volunteering and doing pro bono work at the not-for-profit organizations St. Louis Crisis Nursery; Cara Chicago; and the Belleville Area Humane Society and Caritas Family Solutions, both in Belleville. Greensfelder has offices in St. Louis, Chicago and Belleville. Ford specifically sought to help community organizations that assist women and girls through educational, empowerment and support programs.
The day also coincided with Greensfelder’s own Volunteer Week, during which more than 50 firm employees donated their time to various community service programs and organizations.
“We are immensely proud of our employees who graciously give of their time to benefit their communities through worthy programs,” said Greensfelder Chief Executive Officer Timothy R. Thornton.
Greensfelder was among more than 90 law firms worldwide that partnered with LAW for the Global Day of Service, which organized volunteers from more than eight countries in a day of service to give back to the communities in which Ford and its partners operate.
“The passion we share in advocating for and serving our communities extends beyond this one day,” said Beth Rose, assistant general counsel at Ford Motor Co. and chairperson of Ford’s Legal Alliance for Women. “It is part of who we are as individuals and drives our community service year-round.”
