Walmart stores in area part of ‘National Play Day’ for kids

Walmart is inviting local kids and parents to visit select Walmarts this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to partake in free family-friendly fun as part of the retailer’s first-ever “National Play Day.”

Children are invited to come into participating local Walmart stores to test top toys, pose for photos, and take home giveaways and toy booklets from Walmart toy partners like Barbie, Thomas & Friends, Hatchimals and Twisty Petz.

“National Play Day” comes just days after Walmart released its 40 Top Rated by Kids list. Walmart has also recently increased toys in its stores by 30 percent and online at Walmart.com at 40 percent.

Stores participating in Metro East include locations in Cahokia, Collinsville, O’Fallon and Belleville.
