Caritas Family Solutions marks addition of Fontebella Maternity Home
The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce recently joined Caritas Family Solutions for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and merger celebration at Fontebella Maternity Home, located on Hartman Lane in O’Fallon.
Fontebella Maternity Home, a non-profit agency providing shelter and support for pregnant mothers in need, first opened in 2010 at its current location. Fontebella merged with Caritas Family Solutions effective July 1, 2018, and is now one of many programs managed by Caritas.
The ribbon cutting was a part of Caritas Day, an annual day of giving that recognizes and celebrates the successes of thousands of people who receive services from Caritas Family Solutions each year. Caritas CEO Gary Huelsmann welcomed the crowd and gave an overview of the agency as well as Caritas Day. O’Fallon Mayor Herb Roach proclaimed July 31 as Caritas Day and Miss O’Fallon 2017, Ava Hipskind, was present to mark the occasion as one of her final appearances during her reign. Fontebella founders Susan and Bob Hoff and many Caritas employees were also present.
Caritas Day consists of online giving and volunteer opportunities. All funds raised on Caritas Day 2018 will support the Fontebella program.
