Madison County is losing some choice parking spots as a jail renovation project begins in Edwardsville, and officials are trying to get the word out about available lots elsewhere.
The project has temporarily reduced the number of parking spots available on the Second Street parking lot behind the Madison County Courthouse and Administration Building.
A statement from the courts on Thursday said the parking reduction will affect jurors as well as the general public coming to the buildings.
Madison County has two additional parking lots at the Criminal Justice Center that are located on Ramey Street. The city of Edwardsville provides two-hour street parking around the courthouse and on Main Street.
