Letters

To the editor
I read with interest the opposing articles concerning amending the Constitution to reverse Citizens United (June issue). The writer Bradley Smith indicated that corporations are people, too.
While corporations do have some legal rights, which were extensively broadened in the Citizens United decision, the logic of his position is readily apparent in one sentence.
People vote, corporations do not. In his comments he indicated that it is a win for free speech, that Citizens United was a win for free speech. Frankly, it is a win for corporate domination and in fact control of America because unfortunately money influences voting.
The Citizens United decision has been widely criticized by most constitutional law professors in this country.
