Annual Edwardsville Art Fair seeking sponsors, volunteers

Planning is underway for the Annual Edwardsville Art Fair, which will showcase nearly 100 artists at City Park in Edwardsville on Sept. 21, 22 and 23.

edwardsvilleartfairlogoThe Art Fair, co-hosted by the City of Edwardsville and The Edwardsville Arts Center, is now in its fifth year. This year artists will be traveling from as far as Oregon and New York to display their pieces. Companies and vendors throughout the region are already signing on as event sponsors and merchants, but there is still room for additional participants.

Although the main attraction of this event is the artists, the event offers a little something for everyone.

Local restaurants will be selling food and beverages throughout the park, and local music and dance groups will be performing on the main stage each day. Fri., Sept. 21 is the VIP Event offering attendees a few surprises and an opportunity to visit with the artists, art fair sponsors, and members of the Edwardsville Arts Center. Contact the arts center for more information on sponsorships and membership opportunities at www.edwardsvilleartscenter.com or call 618-655-0337.

Current sponsors include Walton and Telken Injury Attorneys, Fischer Lumber, AAdvantage Insurance, JF Electric and Brickman Orthodontics. The Junior Service Club and the Bank of Springfield will each be sponsoring a day of the children’s tent which will be open on Saturday and Sunday, offering a variety of crafts and free art projects for children to create their own masterpiece to take home and enjoy.

Local businesses have also donated a combined $15,000 in awards to recognize the best artists presenting at this year’s art fair. Walton Telken Injury Attorneys are sponsoring our new Art Fair Booklet that will be an index of events, artists, and sponsor ads. Mathis, Marifian & Richter Ltd. is again sponsoring the ‘Best of Show Award,’ worth $1,500. Town and Country Bank and Gori Julian will be sponsoring our entertainment stage. One of the sponsored awards, ‘The Bank of Edwardsville Award’ is worth $750, and First Mid-Illinois Bank will sponsor ‘Best of Mixed Media’. Merit Awards worth $200 each will be sponsored by Scheffel Boyle, Lucco, Brown, Threlkeld & Dawson LLP; Bard and Didriksen Pediatrics; Anderson Hospital; Don and Marlene Metzger and Metro East Storage.
